Happy birthday, Butters Stotch.
Maleesha has told a far more compelling and moving story than what I have to offer about this date seven years ago. Go read that post instead.
I do have one thing to say: I always wear all black on Sept. 11, and this morning BF pointed out that this is a rather gloomy way to treat this day, instead of moving on and living normally – and living normally is what the terrorists are trying to ruin. I told him I do it out of respect, not for reasons of dwelling and mournfulness. What do you think?

Thanks for the link. If the memory isn’t gloomy, then what is? I don’t think it’s unreasonable to wear black. I think people should remember it however they wish. The phrase “but then the terrorists win” should be eliminated from our vocabulary. No one said that about Pearl Harbor. No one would comment about black clothes on Pearl Harbor day. That’s what I think. It happened, and that’s just the way it has to be.

It’s personal for everyone…you don’t have to be gloomy and you don’t have to deny it…Wearing black is a way of showing rememberance, no harm in that…We move throughout life in a forward direction, but with a rearview mirror to the past, or I do anyway…
